Why we invested
MVP saw ARRIS differently from the additive-manufacturing companies it was often compared with. Its proprietary continuous-fiber composite process was designed not simply to produce complex parts, but to manufacture high-performance components at the cost and scale required for real production. By owning the manufacturing process and selling finished parts rather than machines, ARRIS was pursuing the harder path with the potential to build a much more durable business. Early production commitments across consumer and industrial markets gave us conviction that the technology could move beyond technical promise into scaled manufacturing.
Partnership
A company's biggest market isn't always the one it starts in. As defense and drone applications became a larger part of ARRIS's opportunity, MVP brought more of our defense infrastructure into the relationship, opening relationships across defense technology, government, policy, and the industrial supply chain as the team moves into an increasingly important market.
