Nearly every consequential decision at MVP eventually takes shape in a legal document. Matt makes sure the details are right, the risks are understood, and the firm can move forward with confidence. His work as General Counsel is both protective and practical, safeguarding what MVP has built while creating a legal foundation strong enough to support what comes next.
Matt began his career advising private equity clients before narrowing his focus to venture capital at Fenwick & West, where he helped grow the firm’s VC fund formation practice. He later joined AngelList, bringing him closer to the funds and operators making the decisions he had spent years advising. MVP offered the opportunity he had been working toward for much of his career, the chance to help build an ambitious venture firm from the inside alongside people he believed in. Matt takes the word “general” in General Counsel seriously. He wants to understand what is happening across the firm, anticipate the questions others may not see yet, and make sure today’s decisions still hold up years from now.
Born and raised on Long Island, Matt follows Formula 1 and remains loyal to the Knicks, Mets, and Jets. He reads mostly nonfiction and spends as much time as he can with his wife and young daughter. At work, Matt is direct, accessible, and always open to a question. His view is simple. The earlier he is brought in, the more helpful he can be.
