Bio
Mark was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and moved to San Francisco with his family when he was seven, after spending his early childhood amid the economic upheaval that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union. In a world where wages could arrive in goods and the value of money itself could feel uncertain, he learned early that financial systems ultimately depend on trust. That experience stayed with him and eventually became a career spent understanding how financial organizations operate, where their processes break down, and what allows them to scale with confidence.
His career began at PwC and continued for more than a decade at Farallon Capital Management, where his work grew from fund accounting into operations, investor reporting, and financial technology. Mark became a natural bridge between finance teams and software engineers, translating complex operational needs into systems that could solve them. He brought that same approach to MVP, where he is building the accounting and operating infrastructure behind the firm’s special purpose vehicles, from investor allocations and capital calls to treasury, controls, and reporting. The goal is not simply to keep accurate records. It is to create processes that someone can understand years later and infrastructure that will remain dependable as the firm scales.
Mark combines an institutional finance background with an unusually hands-on approach to new technology. He uses new technology to reduce repetitive work, investigate problems, and give a small team capabilities that once required far more people. Away from the numbers, he is a dedicated sports fan, a proud UCLA alumnus, and happiest spending time at the zoo with his wife and son or playing fetch with his German Shepherd, Moshe.
