Bio
David Fried has spent his career investing, raising capital, and building relationships across the financial markets. Before joining MVP Ventures, he worked with leading alternative investment firms including Morgan Stanley, Tiger Management, and Scoggin Capital, developing relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and business leaders around the world. At MVP, David leads the firm’s capital markets efforts, working to bring investors into the MVP network who offer more than capital alone. He looks for people whose experience, relationships, and perspective can become valuable resources for the founders MVP backs.
Years in public markets taught David to evaluate opportunities in an environment where decisions can be made and measured quickly. Venture required a different kind of patience. He has learned to give great founders the time to build, particularly those bringing lessons from previous successes and failures into what they create next. That longer view is part of what drew him to venture and to MVP, where he saw the opportunity to help build an entrepreneurial firm while investing at the forefront of technological change.
Relationships have remained a constant throughout his career. David is often the person connecting two people who should know each other, whether there is an immediate business reason for the introduction or not. He believes the best networks are built through trust, understanding what people need, and being useful long before anything is asked in return. That instinct traces in part to his father, an entrepreneur who taught him about risk, work ethic, and what it takes to build a business. Outside of MVP, David spends much of his time with his wife and children and stays active through swimming, cycling, squash, and padel.
